Huis te huur #1:  Pieterjan & Galerie Tatjana Pieters invite

In 2012 Sofie Lachaert & Luc d’Hanis make their famous work shop available
for artistic initiatives other than their own, under the title 'Huis te huur’
(House for Rent). In the framework of 'Maart Design Maand' (March Month of Design)
designer Pieterjan & gallerist Tatjana Pieters are the first to start the
initiative . Both active in Ghent, Pieterjan designed the new gallery space of
Galerie Tatjana Pieters that opened in October 2011.
Departing from a need to break the common artistic borders, they propose an
exhibition with fashion, design and visual art that is not easy to categorize.
Textile creations by Deborah Van Acker and sculptures by Tamara Van San
are juxtaposed with objects by Pieterjan and chairs by the Berlin-based
Jerszy Seymour. A similar approach to tongue in cheek humor, colour, plasticity and
materials results in an exhibition where reality is not what it appears to be.
